A 2D world is not enough.
Given we’re immersed in the development of 3D worlds right now or to put it another way 3D cartography, we are running across some pretty cool stuff out there and thought we’d share.
Map Tricks and Cool Stuff
With the rising popularity of Google Map and Google Earth these days, the whole world is becoming involved in cartography. If you haven’t check out Google’s street view give it a whirl..it’s pretty cool.

3D Fractals
For those of you with a graphics, geometry, biology or math background you are probably aware of Fractals. Wikipedia defines fractals as a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole, a property called self-similarity. Roots of mathematical interest in fractals can be traced back to the late 19th Century; however, the term “fractal” was coined by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975.
Fractals are pretty cool on a two dimension plane; but check out the 3D fractals for a look at a different though familiar world?
A Note from the CEO:
I went for a coffee with Devon, one of our software development gurus, and couldn’t help noticing this caterpillar attached to his upper lip.
Turns out he is a “MOVEMBER” warrior trying to help fight the battle against prostate cancer and not a aspiring Mariachi Band member. Help support Devon and Men’s Health or simply see the link to get a look and laugh at Devon’s pet caterpillar.
