Victoria/Seattle — November 1, 2009 — Clover Point Cartographics (CP), a veteran GIS and application development firm based in Victoria BC, Canada, has developed the next evolution of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM). Through leveraging its extensive GIS experience with application developers from multiple disciplines and industries, CP is now launching a web-based asset management tracking system called the Master Planning Tool to help Fortune 1000 companies more efficiently manage their large scale global assets.

Asset-intensive organizations are operating in highly competitive markets and dealing with high value facilities, equipment, contracts and personnel where every redundancy and each failure is disruptive and costly. Most must also adhere to an ever increasing set of stringent regulations and performance indicators including environmental protection, health and safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley rules.

“Our experience with many Fortune 1000 companies shows that quite often these companies will have assets spread out all across the country, sometimes the globe and often have no centralized mapping process to see what’s happening to those assets at any given moment, and they can be running into EPA fines, security and SOX issues” said Jeff Warwick, Clover Point CEO. “ATA is our web based solution to assist these companies maintain compliance in their assets for the wide variety of regulatory issues they face on a daily basis.”

As an asset management tool, ATA enables a web-based GIS tool to monitor assets visually on a variety of mapping engines (including Google, Yahoo, ESRI, Microsoft, NASA Blue and Open Street) while enabling the integration of any digital components as part of the asset profile.

“We’ve built an elaborate security model into the system to enable multiple parties to contribute information, but only those with the appropriate credentials can see what they need to,” said Karl Swannie, Director of Business Development.

By geospatially enabling asset management, users can easily visualize and understand the geographic context of an asset and find other assets or relevant data located close by. ATA can use map overlays of relevant data to see the geospatial context of the asset. This capability enables organizations to make better operational decisions and easily communicate proposed or actual asset improvements.

ATA also includes a temporal feature enabling predictive assessments for maintenance and compliance planning and for automated alerting features.

For large scale planning ATA has a 3D modeling component which enables the creation of virtual assets for planning, demonstration and assessment functions.
